Welcome to our
first newsletter. We hope it finds you
happy & healthy. Thank you for
bearing with us as we work out the kinks.
We've had alot of fun putting this site
together. If you have any ideas or
suggestions, please don't hesitate to drop
us an e-mail at info@cyberfamilycafe.com.
We hope to create an HTML newsletter soon.
If you would like to receive the new
HTML-with graphics newsletter when it is
available, you must opt-in (sign up or
join). You can opt-in by going to www.cyberfamilycafe.com/newsletter and
filling out your name and e-mail address and
clicking subscribe. If you cannot
receive HTML mail, please sign up anyway -
there will be a text version of the
newsletter. Once you join the mailing
list you will receive an e-mail asking to
confirm your subscription. Alright

What's
New?
We've moved a
few things around and added some pages.
We changed the "Charities" page to
be "Charities
& Non-Profit Organizations",
we didn't think "Charities" was
broad enough. The button linked to the
page is called "Charities
&...". We are working on
a section called "In the
Spotlight...", which currently is going
to be about The Cavalry Chapel in Liberia
and The Lowe's Ministry. We hope to
expand on issues related to the organization
in the spotlight and give you a little
more insight into what they are all about.
We've added
a page called "To
Your Health".
Right now, we have a kind of health
calculator on the page. It will help
you determine what categories you fall in to
when it comes to blood pressure, body fat,
heartrate, ideal weight and more. We
will be adding relevant articles and links
pertaining to your health.
Our shopping
section is ever growing, especially in the "Great
Deals" section.
Since we've become affiliates of many of
these shopping sites, they offer us special
savings to our website visitors. Some
examples include: $10
off a $50 order at Office Depot, free
shipping on orders over $25 at Sony Music
Store, 33% off at Drugstore.com, free
shipping on your first order at babystyle
and much more. Please make sure
to go through Cyber Family Cafe's website to
get these deals, they may not be
available if you go directly to their home
page and we get credit when you visit and
purchase through our site. The credit
these sites give us helps us to maintain the
cost of running the site (hosting, etc.).
We are currently trying to work out a deal
where if you buy something, having linked
from us to a merchant site, we will be able
to give a portion to charity. We are
also going to be conducting a
contest/giveaway in April or May. You
will be entered in a drawing for a gift
certificate everytime you purchase something
through one of our affiliate's sites.
The details for the giveaway and charity
contributions are not all worked out yet, so
keep your eyes peeled for those! We've
added two special shopping &
informational pages - "For Race
Fans Only" & "Nuts about
Scrapbookin'", take a minute and check
those pages out - the links are located at
the bottom of the directory on the shopping
page.
We've been
asked to include a link to a private message
board or include one in our
site - for those of you who asked - we are
working on it - thank you for your
suggestion.
Hmmmm....Problems
We've been
having a few problems with people viewing
the photo albums. All the photos are
stored on AOL, you do not need to be a
member of AOL to view the albums. The
link to the photos includes a guest login,
but for some reason this link is not working
properly for some people. We do not
know if it is an operating system issue or
an AOL issue, we have contacted AOL and they
have yet to figure out the problem either.
We are considering going to a new storage
site called Ofoto, this site is operated by
Kodak. One of the drawbacks to going
with Ofoto is that you will need to create a
username and a password in order to view the
photos. We are not even sure yet if
this is going to work with the current
linking system we have. Please let us
know what you think about moving the photos
to Ofoto at info@cyberfamilycafe.com.
